Joan Miro
April 20, 1893 – December 25, 1983
Joan Miró was an artist who worked in both Paris and Barcelona on collages, sculptures, tapestries and abstract paintings that are bright, fantastic and reminiscent of cave paintings. His bold colors and simple lines and shapes make his work instantly recognizable, and his monumental, abstract sculptures are landmarks in cities such as Paris, Chicago, New York and Barcelona.
